In November of 2009, Garland/DBS, Inc., a corporate entity jointly owned by DBS and The Garland Company, Inc., was awarded a Master Intergovernmental Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for Roofing Supplies and Related Services for the U.S. Communities^™ Purchasing Alliance. U.S. Communities is a leading national government purchasing cooperative that serves over 42,000 agencies across the United States. The same procurement opportunity is extended to our Canadian customers via Canadian Communities^™.

U.S. Communities/Canadian Communities provide world-class government procurement resources and solutions to local, state, and provincial government agencies, K-12 schools, higher education institutes, and non-profits. U.S. Communities is the only government cooperative purchasing organization to be co-founded and sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo), The National League of Cities (NLC), The Association of School Business Officials, International (ASBO), The National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) and the U.S. Conference of Mayors (USCM). Garland/DBS, Inc. was the sole contract awardee of a competitively solicited bid of six roofing suppliers with national distribution capabilities. Garland/DBS, Inc. was deemed the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on overall capabilities and lowest price offering available.
